Rose C. Wiezik

June 11, 1913 - February 2, 2010

Rose C. Wiezik, 96, of Aurora passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at her home. She was born June 11, 1913 in Virden, IL. the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura Gaffino.

Rose was a longtime, active member and elder of First United Presbyterian Church in Aurora where she was a member of the Prayer Warriors Group. She was currently a member of the Genesis Community Church. Rose was one of the original members of the Widowed Persons Support Group. She was an excellent cook and baker. Most of all, Rose’s main focus of her life was her family, her church family and her wonderful neighbors. They all meant the world to her and were always close to her heart.

Survivors include her daughter, Janeen (Tom) Korody of Aurora; her son, Augie (Mary) Wiezik of Shorewood; her grandchildren, Kevin Korody of Aurora, Brenda (Pete) Carey of Utah, Andy (Shannon) Wiezik of Plainfield; a great granddaughter, Samantha Carey of Utah; a brother Rich Gaffino of Montgomery; her nieces, Sue and Linda; her nephews, David, Rick, Mark and Joe as well as numerous great nieces and nephews and her furry grandson, Micah.

A special thanks to her extraordinary caregiver, Gemma.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur Daugherty; her second husband, August Wiezik; two sisters, Mary Millen and Martha Stutzle and a brother, John Gaffino.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Aurora Chapel with Pastor Jeff Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the funeral home.
