Robert J. “Wes” Wesbrock

Robert J. Wesbrock, age 62, of Packwaukee, WI, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2010. He was born April 22, 1948 in Aurora IL, the son of the late Joseph and Rita (Edmunds) Wesbrock.

Robert grew up in Aurora, IL, graduating East Aurora High School in 1966. He relocated to Poynette, WI in 1994, retired from AT&T/Lucent Technologies after 32 years of service, and later moved to Packwaukee in 2003. He was a permanent fixture at Thal Acres Links & Lanes in Westfield, WI where he sometimes played two or three rounds of golf daily. When he wasn’t on the golf course, he was a recreation bowler and enjoyed having daily coffee and breakfast with his friends at the Log Cabin in Packwaukee, WI. He was the best husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend anyone in his family could ever ask for.

He is survived by his wonderful wife, Dawn (Meiller) Wesbrock of Packwaukee, WI; his daughter, Jennifer (Wesbrock) and husband Todd Evers of Naperville, IL; his son, Jason and wife Christine (Meszaros) Wesbrock of Cortland, IL; three step-children, Rachel Drucks of Packwaukee, WI, Rebecca (Kevin) Schwochert of Baraboo, WI, Penny (Denny) Baker of Beloit, WI; four grandchildren, Jordan McDowell of Montgomery, IL, Rachel Wesbrock of Cortland, IL, and Margaret Evers and Katherine Evers of Naperville, IL; five step-grandchildren, Summer Drucks of Packwaukee, WI, Christopher and Sadie Schwochert of Baraboo, WI, Autumn and Morgan Baker of Beloit, WI; his sister, Rita and her husband Raymond J. Tuma of Somonauk, IL; two sisters-in-law, Kellie Georgeson and her husband Carl, and Tammie Webb and her husband Kevin; and three brothers-in-law, Marc Springer, Mitchell Springer, and Robert Springer and his wife Noel.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph and Rita (Edmunds) Wesbrock; his grandparents Robert and Margaret (Kelly) “Nanny” Edmunds and Frank and Rose (Buri) Wesbrock; and several aunts and uncles.

The family wishes to thank the outstanding EMTs and paramedics from the Naperville Fire & Police Department and the Emergency Room staff at Edward Hospital for their care, compassion and hard work, the staff of the Cardiac Center & Heart Hospital at the University of Madison-Wisconsin for their amazing care during the last 14 years, and the staff and members of Thal Acres Links & Lanes in Westfield, WI for their love and friendship. The joy that he found on that course and with the people there added something to his life that is impossible to measure.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
