The Healy Chapel is a fifth-generation family owned and operated funeral home that conducts itself according to the Golden Rule: Treat others the way that you would want to be treated. This basic principle has guided us from our beginning in 1891, and we believe that is what has led to our long being regarded as one of the finest providers of funeral care service in Illinois.
We have the knowledge and experience needed to effectively handle the many details that must be completed in a short time without placing additional stress on you and your family. We offer compassionate service to all cultures and faiths and will help you create a unique ceremony for yourself or your loved one, whether it be very simple or very ornate. Our goal is to provide information to the families we serve for them to make informed, intelligent decisions in a relaxed and pressure free environment. You should have all of your questions and concerns answered before selecting your services.
Both of our facilities can comfortably accommodate a large number of people or be configured for a smaller, more intimate setting. We provide equipment to personalize these spaces with poster boards, framed or loose photographs, or any kind of article that helps to represent a loved one’s interests and life. Many families also take advantage of our free software to create memorial videos that we can play on our monitors in our chapels. We also offer livestreaming of visitations, wakes, and funeral ceremonies that take place at our facilities, at church, a banquet hall or at the graveside. Livestreaming is a way for those who cannot attend a service in person to remotely view it on their smart phone, tablet, or computer. On our website, we provide a tribute space where family and friends can view their loved one’s obituary, pictures of them, their memorial video, and their livestream or recording of their funeral services. Online guests who view the tribute can leave their condolences and send gifts and flowers to the family.
Families choose us not only because of our caring service and ability to offer every accommodation a family may need, but also because of our reputation for excellence in restorative art. We take every care and use the most up to date methods in respectfully restoring the deceased to their most beautiful, lifelike appearance. We believe an important part of the grieving process is having a chance to see our loved ones and say goodbye in a peaceful setting.
Whatever the type of service one of our families chooses, they can expect to be treated with kindness and compassion by dedicated funeral directors who pay close attention to detail. In addition to Robert Healy and Paul Healy, there are five other full-time licensed funeral directors on staff with many years of experience. We believe in providing the best possible service to our families, because its what they deserve, and its what we would want when we’re going through the experience of losing someone we love.
